Politicians honour Winnie: 'We will never forget you Mama'
Mama Winnie Madikizela Mandela dominated trends lists as South Africans celebrate her life, one year after her passing on April 2.
While women across the country wore black and head wraps in remembrance of Mama Winnie, politicians, including ANC elections head Fikile Mbalula and EFF leader Julius Malema, have also taken to the platform to share their messages and fondest memories of the struggle icon and mother of the nation.
Here are some of the messages.

Today marks a year since our nation lost one of its greatest patriots, but the mark she left will never be removed. What set uMama #WinnieMadikizelaMandela apart was the compassionate leader that she was, she stayed rooted among her people & led them until the very end pic.twitter.com/3AZ8YZzgYj

Exactly a year ago, an icon of our movement, Isithwalandwe/Seaparankoe #WinnieMadikizelaMandela departed. One of the very few stalwarts who would tell us what is wrong & what is right at anytime. A year later, we miss her guidance. In her honour, let us #GrowSouthAfrica pic.twitter.com/7tTYQfYQaU
