Somizi Mhlongo has reflected on his last conversation with DJ Sumbody hours before his passing.

The musician was reportedly fatally shot in the early hours on Sunday.

His family shared a statement saying investigations were underway after the star "ran into an unfortunate incident".

Taking to his Instagram timeline on Sunday, Somizi said he was "numb".

"I no longer know how to feel and react to the news of the loss of loved ones. We definitely are living on borrowed time," he wrote.

He shared a screenshot of their last conversation.

In their exchange on text, Somizi offered to promote an event on his social media pages for free before the conversation moved to video call.

"He was at a salon being groomed and his last words to me were: 'Don’t forget to wear white tomorrow because it’s going to look like we are in heaven'.

"Obviously we didn’t think much about that statement. Little did we know today it’s going to be exactly that, literally heaven. Rest easy, Oupa. What a joker you were, a hard worker and very humble," he wrote.

Somizi shared a video of his last meeting with the DJ on the set of an advert they were shooting for their mutual friend Cassper Nyovest.
