Pancras Malani, Bellville South :I read with empathy the ordeal of Zandile Nogantyi ("Doctor's Home Affairs trip becomes ordeal", March 29).

There are many cases of irresolvable ID applications. Mine has been going on since September as a result of multiple errors by Home Affairs staff - until I was told that my ID has been duplicated.

The office that deals with such complicated cases is not accessible to the public. You talk to the so-called efficient call centre and the answer is "wait; the case is being investigated".
