They may need to relook the name of this one before it gets to our shores. This is the Ssangyong Tivoli. And while it might be named after a little town in Rome, you’ll probably associate it with a line of tap fixtures.

According to Ssangyong, the Tivoli marks a change in the aesthetic language of the company. They want to be slightly less offensive, but still different and edgy. Adjectives like urban and dynamic were thrown into the mix. They hope this new compact crossover will appeal to a young and trendy bunch. The Tivoli has been under development for the past three years and its makers purport levels of quality that will raise the bar in this segment. It’s set to go on sale in its home market, Korea early next year. The rest of the world will get it in the second quarter of 2015.

On the inside, emphasis has been placed on practicality – and a technology that complements the lives of the Tivoli’s gadget-savvy audience. A new interface promises to enable easy integration of smartphones and other devices. While storage spaces abound in the cabin.
