An aspiring wine farmer with a taste for fine dining, entertaining and wellness could see his or her dreams come to fruition when the 28.58ha Nwanedi wine estate and lifestyle property in northern Paarl, Western Cape, goes under the hammer tomorrow.

"The estate offers an exceptional lifestyle and business opportunity. While this property is aimed at a very niche buyer, significant interest from prospective bidders, both local and international, has been received," said Aucor auctioneer Marco Gaspar.

The property is a major tourist destination and comprises a 12 en-suite graded boutique hotel in 17th century style, a wellness centre and a restaurant seating 80.

The estate boasts a 1050m² winery, a cellar tasting centre, an outdoor concert area and a possible conference or wedding venue.

Other features include a primary residence with three large bedrooms, all en-suite, an entertainment patio and a double garage set with a northeast aspect facing the mountain.

"The wine tasting centre and the open air concert area adjacent to the winery building certainly offer so much more than the attraction of a simple wine estate," said Gaspar.

The estate's 17ha of vineyards are fully irrigated and trellised and produce shiraz, cabernet sauvignon, mourvedre and viognier grapes.

To top it all, there are 60 fruit-bearing olive trees, an established orchard of about 130 different fruit and nut trees and a further 6ha area of developed and irrigated blocks used for annual cash crops, herbs and spices.

"Although the estate is zoned agricultural, all the necessary documents, including water rights licences, legal and tax regulations are in place to facilitate the making, selling and exporting of wines. There is also a consumption liquor licence for the boutique hotel," said Gaspar.

According to Gaspar, it is not often that Aucor gets this kind of property on their auction lists.

"Buyers looking for something special are in luck as we seldom see a property presenting a fantastic lifestyle opportunity combined with the excellent long-term investment potential of the developing of the R45 as the primary tourist route to the Cape West Coast," Gaspar said.

So, if you have been eyeing a lifestyle change and stunning views of the Cape's winelands, this is your chance to bid for this impressive and unique property.

The auction takes place at the Radisson Blu Hotel, Sandton, with a simultaneous online auction link to the property, facilitating bids on site.
