Messages of sympathy and support pour in for Cheryl Zondi
Cheryl Zondi put herself at the centre of attention by holding a press conference on Tuesday, during which she said she was willing to go through the "gruelling" process of testifying against Nigerian pastor Timothy Omotoso all over again.
Zondi's previous emotional testimony made headlines as she detailed alleged incidents of sexual abuse by Omotoso. She described the church as a cult and said she was manipulated into performing various sexual acts.
Judge Mandela Makaula has recused himself from the case, leading to suggestions that there may be a retrial.
Zondi said that despite the trauma of detailing what she allegedly went through - and receiving apparent death threats - she wanted justice to be served.
On social media, Zondi got support from many people who applauded her "strength."

#CherylZondi better watch videos of her previous testimony & stick to every word she said. Defence will capitalise on discrepancies.

Mme Xaluva could have advised Cheryl otherwise, she needs support but the media briefing May be reduced to seeking spotlight.#CherylZondi

Sexual Assault is not a laughing matter. It's all fun and games until it happens to you. Abuse victims are suffering in silence because of comments like "she wanted it" "she is a slay queen" etc... Cheryl could be you or your family member. #CherylZondi

is like that HR Manager taking up retirement,
now you have to start this thing all over,
& explain things - that could just go against you.
I hate having to explain things TWICE - the frustration. #CherylZondi
