Ayanda Ncwane not only bagged an award when she was out of the country recently but you can now call her by a different name after her travels.

The businesswoman is known as one of the stylish celebs in Mzansi and for the Africa Choice Awards she did not come to play. Armed with a few custom-made dresses she blessed the red carpet with her style.

Taking to her Instagram timeline, she shared a clip of herself elegantly dressed and said she has been honoured with a new Nigerian name.

“So while I was hosting @africachoiceawards the beautiful audience gave me a new name, AMAKA, and insisted I’m an Igbo Lolo,” she wrote.

In a separate post on Insta she announced she not only hosted but also won the Best Female TV Star of 2022 award.

“Category is ... winning, To God be the Glory. #WondersWithoutNumber thank you to @africachoiceawards . We came, we hosted, we won & we showed up in fabulosity. Ain’t God great?” she wrote.

Global African Awards rewarded her for her contribution to the entertainment and lifestyle industry.

The awards, which recognise and celebrate achievements in the African diaspora, shone the spotlight on Ayanda for her contribution to the arts industry over the years.

Explaining their choice, the awards organisers wrote: “Ayanda Ncwane is the CEO of Ncwane Communications, a music executive, president of Africa Gospel Awards and a CAPPASSO board member. She is a formidable businesswoman and an advocate for women in rural areas and widowed women.

“Ayanda's outstanding performance as a top female record label owner has propelled her into being one of the respected gospel industry captains.”
